The MZDIR program is used to eliminate some of the tails from the diagonal peaks in an anti-phase spectrum by doing a 90 degree constant phase correction in both directions, zeroing the diagonal, and do a -90 degree phase correction to restore the anti-phase pattern of the peaks.
